Friends of Portage ParkAbout UsThe purpose of Friends of Portage Park shall be to provide advice and assistance to the Chicago Park District and/or other agencies on matter relating to concerns and needs of the Portage Park Community and all users of Portage Park. Friends of Portage Park is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Friends of Portage Park shall meet its purpose by: President: Jennifer Dianovksy Current initiatives include the renovation of the outdated playground in the southwest corner of Portage Park. Our mission is to garner support from the Chicago Park District, elected officials, community leaders, local businesses and residents. This is designed to bring about needed improvements that will ensure the play lot is a safe place to play and continues to be a vital amenity to the vibrant and diverse community of Portage Park. Our farmer’s market is in its 2nd season! The summer markets take place outdoors near the Berteau and Long entrance every 1st, 3rd and 5th (If applicable) Sunday of the month June through October .
Our next market is scheduled for July 18th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. and will honor Bastille Day with some special French themed treats! |
