Portage Park Advisory Council

About Us

The purpose of  the Portage Park Advisory Council (aka Friends of Portage Park) shall be to provide advice and assistance to the Chicago Park District and/or other agencies on matter relating to concerns and needs of the Portage Park Community and all users of Portage Park.

Portage Park Advisory Council (PPAC) is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Friends of Portage Park shall meet its purpose by:

a. Determining the needs of the Portage Park community;
b. Working with the Chicago Park District to determine and establish programs to meet these needs;
c. Providing advice and counsel and an evaluation of the programs as they relate to community needs.

PPAC Meeting Schedule

The next meeting of Friends of Portage Park will take place Monday, January 28, at 7:30 pm in the senior center. At this meeting, a new meeting schedule will be voted on, and we will update you as to what the new schedule will be.

2nd Annual Holiday Tree Lighting

Saturday, Dec 8th, 2012

3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Join Friends of Portage Park in the playground as we kick off the holiday season at Portage Park. Hot chocolate will be served as we enjoy holiday carols sung by a professional caroling group while Alderman Cullerton lights the tree at dusk. 

 

 

Our First Indoor Winter Farmer’s Market

A wide array of bakers, eco friendly products for your home and body, handmade soaps, Dog Treats, Prepared Foods among others.
